WILBUR POTTER Obituary

DOYLE POTTER Doyle Potter, age 57, of Strong City, died Saturday, February 26, 2011, at his home in rural Strong City, Kansas. A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, March 3, 2011, at 2:00 P.M., at the First Baptist Church in Cottonwood Falls. Inurnment will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery west of Cottonwood Falls, KS. Pastor Rick Smith will conduct the service. Cremation has taken place. The son of Wilbur "Webb" E. and Reba "Louise" Snyder Potter, Wilbur Doyle was born May 26, 1953, in Grandma Potter’s house in Cottonwood Falls, KS. He graduated from high school in Chase County. He and Patsy Garr were married and later divorced. He and Jennifer S. Creager were married August 1, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Cottonwood Falls, KS. He worked as a ranch hand for Palenske Ranch. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He was an avid coon hunter and liked to fish. He was a good friend and liked to tell jokes and laugh. He is survived by his wife of the home; three daughters: Laci Mulder and Cheri Wilson of Leavenworth, Ks. and Madison McGill of Emporia, KS; one brother: Mike Potter of Strong City, KS.; three sisters: Melinda Barrett and Mary Blount of Cottonwood Falls, KS. and Reba Belderes of Dover, FL.; and two grandchildren: J.D. and Rick Loving. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. The family will meet friends Wednesday, from 6:00 until 7:30, at the First Baptist Church in Cottonwood Falls. Friends may call Wednesday, from 9:00 until 4:30, at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Chase County Wishes Project may be sent in care of the funeral home, 201 Cherry, Cottonwood Falls, KS. 66845.
