WARREN CAHOONE Obituary

WARREN R. CAHOONE Strong City Dateline Warren R. Cahoone, age 80, died Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Morris County Hospital in Council Grove, KS. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at 11;00 A.M., at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls with The Rev. John Hastings officiating. Inurnment will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery in rural Cottonwood Falls. Military honors by a United States Navy Honor Guard. The son of Russell W. and Hazel Marie Harris Cahoone, Warren Russell was born October 27, 2009, in rural Strong City, KS. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Gunner’s ate Third Class on the USS Spangler. He and Carol Ayers were married October 2, 1953, at the parsonage of the Strong City United Methodist Church. He was a retail merchant and repaired sewing machines. He enjoyed working outdoors and worked as a "green thumb" employee for several years. He was a member of the Strong City United Methodist Church and the American Legion. He has been cremated. He is survived by his wife, Carol, of the home; two sons: Michael W. Cahoone of Strong City and aerk A. Cahoone of Cottonwood Falls; one brother, James V. Cahoone of Cottonwood Falls; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will meet friends Monday, from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M., at the funeral home. Friends may call Monday, 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday, from 9:00 A.M. until service time.
