WANDA LEE "JIM" CAHOONE "Jim" Cahoone died Saturday, September 8, 2012, at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at 10:00 A.M., at the First Presbyterian Church, USA, in Cottonwood Falls. The Rev. Pat Ireland will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Bazaar Cemetery, Bazaar, Kansas. The daughter of Walter T. "Windy" and Helen "Brownie" Russell Pinkston, "Jim" was born August 27, 1927, in the family home in Bazaar, Kansas. She graduated from Chase County Community High School in 1945. She worked as a telephone operator before her marriage and for Eshbaugh Hardware. She and Sidney "Sid" Cahoone were married May 22, 1948, at the Chase County Courthouse in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. He died April 10, 2002. She worked as a secretary at Scribner’s Insurance Agency in Cottonwood Falls for over 50 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, USA, and the Presbyterian Women’s organization. She loved to read and dance. She learned to dance as a child, when her father and his brothers played for dances in the surrounding community. She was always busy taking care of her family and doing something for others. She was a good cook. She made the best fried chicken and always had, at a moment’s notice, plenty of food on hand to feed anyone who happened her way. She enjoyed her houseplants. She is survived by her two daughters, Terri Jo Bek, and her husband, Warren, of Curtis, NE. and Vicki Ann Cahoone of Curtis, NE., one sister, Wilma L. Giese, of Bazaar, KS., and a granddaughter, Paige Wood, and her husband, Scott, of St. Paul, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, Jess Cahoone. The family will meet friends Tuesday, September 11, from 7:00 until 8:30 at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home.
