Shirley Lincoln Obituary

Shirley A. Lincoln, 81, died March 28, 2020, at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka. She was born March 24, 1939, in Cedar Point, to Walter L. and Ethel L. (Potter) Blount. Shirley graduated from Chase County Community High School in 1957. Shirley retired as the City Clerk of Cottonwood Falls, she was also a member of Chase County Chamber of Commerce, Board of Historical Society, and Treasurer of Cottonwood Falls Housing Authority. Shirley loved to travel and had visited almost every state. She lived in the countries of Japan and England, one of Shirley’s most memorable times in her life was meeting Princess Diana while she was living in England. Shirley also loved rodeos, especially the Bull Riding and she even traveled to Las Vegas for the Bull Riding National Finals where she enjoyed meeting some of the World Champions.

She is survived by: sons, Terry Lincoln (Diana) of Bismarck, ND, Rick Lincoln (Alexandria) of Cartagena, Colombia, Jonathan DeLuna (Marisol) of Goodyear, AZ; grandchildren, Timothy Lincoln (Jessica), Daniel Lincoln (Amanda); Andrew Lincoln (Nicole), Dylan Lincoln (Asiah), Araceli DeLuna, and Cayman DeLuna; great-grandchildren, Jamison, Madison, McKenzie, Molly, and Garian; brothers, Walter Blount Jr. and wife Mary of Cottonwood Falls, James Blount of Blanchard, OK; and sisters, Anna Lee Meyers and Dorothy Bower both of Cottonwood Falls.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Tommy, George, Bobby, Jake; sisters, Viola Davis, Frankie Sprague, Jean Owen, Virgilene Roever, and infant sister, Marlene Blount.

Cremation has taken place.

Celebration of life visitation will be from 2:00-3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2020, honoring the lives of Shirley and her sister, Dorothy Bower, both families will be present at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls.  Memorials may be made to Flint Hills Rodeo Association, in care of Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, PO Box 220, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
