SUSAN A. ZIMMERMAN GAILEY Strong City Dateline Susan A. Gailey, 63, died Thursday, August 28, 2008, at her home in Strong City, Kansas. A graveside celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at 10:00 A.M. at Prairie Grove Cemetery, in rural Cottonwood Falls with Pastor Woody Shoemaker. The daughter of W. Keith and Rella McClean Zimmerman, Susan Ardell Zimmerman was born October 19, 1944, in Wichita, KS. She graduated from Chase County High School and attended the Flint Hills Vo-Tech school where she completed a computer program. She worked at Didde’s in marketing sales for 13+ years before they closed. She worked as a secretary for Keith Thomas for 10 years. She helped start the jail ministry program here in Chase County. She was married to Walter Blount and they later divorced. She and John Gailey were married October 4, 1981, at the Methodist Church in Cottonwood Falls. He preceded her in death May 25, 1999. She was baptized as a small child and was re-dedicated at the First Baptist Church in Cottonwood Falls. She attended the Flint Hills Community Church and recently attended the Pine Street Home Fellowship in Cottonwood Falls. She was a member of the Job’s Daughters in Cottonwood Falls. She is survived by two sons: Christian Ramsey of El Dorado, KS. and John Paul Gailey of Bartlesville, OK.; a daughter, Toni Long of rural Elmdale, KS.; a brother, Steve Zimmerman of Wichita, KS.; two sisters: Pamela Brammell and Brenda Nelson of Strong City, KS.; four grandchildren: Matthew Zimmerman, Nathan Long, Jordan Long, and Tyrus Gailey; and two great grandchildren: Aryona Zimmerman and Tagin Zimmerman. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marcia McCullom. Messages to the family may be left at www.brown-bennett-alexander.com. The family will meet friends Tuesday, from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home. Friends may call Tuesday, 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M.
