ROBERT "BOB" OVA HENSLEY Bob Hensley, age 53, of Strong City, died in a motor vehicle accident Friday, October 22, 2010, near Yates Center, Kansas. A rosary will be held Wednesday, at 7:00 P.M., at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls. Father Theodore Khin will officiate. A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, October 28, 2010, at 10:00 A.M., at Camp Wood, near Elmdale, Kansas. Pastor Jim Bartsch of the Flint Hills Community Church will officiate. The casket will be closed. Burial will follow in the Prairie Grove Cemetery west of Cottonwood Falls. The son of William Ova and Agnes Isabel White Hensley, Robert Ova was born July 14, 1957, in Emporia, Kansas. He graduated from Chase County High School in May of 1975. He attended Flint Hills Vocational Technology School and completed certification in welding. He married Teresa (Terry) Kewley on December 4, 1982, at the Presbyterian Church in Cottonwood Falls. He worked and retired from Detroit Diesel, worked on the railroad, and was presently employed at Camp Wood as a caretaker/maintenance/mechanic. He was active in the KTA Trap-Shooting Association and the Flint Hills Truck Pulling Association. He owned and operated the Outback Bait Shop and an apple orchard next to his home in Strong City. He is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Nicole Marie Hensley of Chanute, KS., a brother, Larry G. Hensley of Cottonwood Falls, KS., and a granddaughter, Ava Marie Gormley of Chanute, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Donna Trussell and Alice Marie Hensley at birth. The family will meet friends Wednesday, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
