ROBERT GAMER Obituary

ROBERT JOHN GAMER Robert J. Gamer 77, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on January 06, 2011 at Lovelace Medical Center. He was the son of John and Mary (Scheve) Gamer and was born February 01, 1933 in Chase County, KS. He graduated from Elmdale Rural High School in 1950. He served in the Army in Japan during the Korean War, railroaded in Alaska and worked on construction and mining before graduating from Emporia State College in 1960. He was a ranger in the National Park Service for 27 years and served in parks in Kentucky, the Virgin Islands, Arizona and Texas. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM and of Project Defending Life. He was preceded in death by his parents; John and Mary Gamer, and siblings; Edward Gamer, Eleanor Blair and Clara Ringo. He is survived by siblings; Margaret Haney of Eureka, KS and Joseph Gamer of Mora, MN. A Rosary was held at 7:00pm on Monday, January 10, 2011 at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Funeral Mass was held at 10:30am on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 619 Copper Ave. NW, Albuq, NM. Graveside Service will be at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Strong City, KS. at 3:00pm on Saturday, January 15, 2011. Father Theodore Khin will officiate.
