Pamela Kay Baker of Sun City, Arizona, passed away on May 13, 2026, at the age of 72 after a brief hospitalization due to complications from kidney cancer. She was born on April 23, 1954, at the Stubenhofer Maternity Home in Strong City, Kansas, to Guy Jr. and Ruby Harlan Baker of Dunlap, Kansas.

She was raised on a farm in rural Chase County and attended Toledo Grade School before later moving to Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, where she attended Cottonwood Falls Elementary School and graduated from Chase County High School in 1972.

She graduated from Flint Hills Vo-Tech School in Emporia, Kansas, with a certificate in auto mechanics. It was there that she met Frank E. George, the love of her life and future husband. They were together for many years until his passing in 2011. Afterward, she moved to the retirement community of Sun City, Arizona, where she lived until her death.

Her greatest achievements were in the field of arts and crafts. She loved woodworking, painting, and scrapbooking and spent many years creating treasured items for family and friends. She was also an avid collector of coins and unicorns. Over the course of her lifetime, she worked as a groundskeeper, store clerk, and truck driver.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her sister, Vicki Sue Davis of Sun City, Arizona; her brothers, James Michael (Petra) of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Damien Patrick of Wichita, Kansas; five nephews; one niece; four great-nephews; and four  great-nieces.

Her cremains will be buried next to her husband at Prairie Grove Cemetery in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, during a ceremony for family and friends to be held later this summer.
