PAULA "SISSY" TRIEMER MAYBELL BECKER Honolulu, Hawaii Dateline Paula "Sissy" Maybell Becker, 88, of Honolulu, Hawaii, formerly of Strong City, died October 8, 2006, at Kaiser Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. A graveside celebration of life service will be held Friday, June 27, 2008, at 1:00 P.M., at the Strong City Cemetery with Pastor David Parks officiating. Cremation has taken place and the inurnment will follow the service. The daughter of Ernest H. "Dutch" and Thea "Mater" Biltz Treimer, Paula "Sissy" was born September 11, 1918, in Strong City, KS. She was one of six children. She graduated from Strong City High School. She and Charles "Chuck" Maybell were married July 4, 1941, and he died October 27, 1998. Paula and Charles were the resident agent in charge of the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms in Hawaii. They had lived in California and Oregon before coming to Hawaii 40 years ago. Paula worked for 20 years at the Bishop Estates in downtown Honolulu in charge of the Safe Deposit Box Department. While growing up, she was a member of Grace Lutheran church in Strong City. She was a long-standing member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Kaneohe where she participated in church activities and sang in the choir. An avid golfer and bridge player, she won many trophies and prizes at the Mid Pacific County Club. She loved to travel and took her granddaughter, Eden and sisters on her trips to Russia, Japan, China, Egypt, German, and Alaska. She and William "Bill" Becker were married five years ago after being friends from grade school through high school. He had been a Colorado State Senator. They had seen each other at high school reunions and enjoyed each others company and decided to spend their remaining years together. Bill had a stroke this past year and is living in Colorado with his family of four sons and their families. Paula is survived by her son, Jon Maybell of Portland, Oregon; a granddaughter, Eden Stright of Alexandria, Virginia; two great grandsons: Grant and Alexander Stright; and a niece, Sue Rouda of Belvedere, CA.
