NORA C. GIGER Cottonwood Falls Dateline Nora C. Giger, 81, died Sunday, December 9, 2007, at the Golden Living Center of Chase County in Cottonwood Falls, KS. A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, 1:00 P.M., at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home with Pastor Melody Kimbrel officiating. An Order of Eastern Star Service by the Falls Chapter #25 O.E.S. will follow. Cremation will take place after the services with inurnment at Prairie Grove Cemetery in rural Cottonwood Falls, KS. The daughter of Harvey and Ocea Brown Counseller, Nora C. was born February 6, 1926, in Hymer, KS. She married Robert Giger on July 8, 1946, in Strong City, KS. He died July 15, 1976. They farmed near Elmdale for many years. They moved to Las Cruces, N.M. and returned to Cottonwood Falls where they owned and operated the Western Auto store. She worked at the Chase County Health and Rehabilitation Center until 1998 when her health failed. She was a member of the Strong City Methodist Church and Falls Chapter #25 Order of Eastern Star. She recently received her 50-year pin from this chapter. She is survived by her daughter, Janice K. Potter of Auburn, KS.; a sister, Aletta Hubble of Hutchinson, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers: Herbert Patchin, Harvey Counseller, Jr., and Howard Counseller; four sisters: Pauline Lawrence, Lillie Millirons, Ethel Lawrence, and Emma Parsons.
