Nancy Lea Lammon, formerly of Cottonwood Falls, died Friday, August 15, 2008, in Emporia. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, at 11:00, at the First Baptist Church in Cottonwood Falls with Pastor Rick

Smith officiating. The Falls Chapter #15 will conduct an O.E.S. service. Interment will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery in rural Cottonwood Falls.

The daughter of Jay Francis and Ora Dill Lammon, Nancy Lea Lammon was born April 19, 1937, in Hartman, Colorado. She attended school in Saffordville through 8th grade, and her junior year in high school. She graduated from Strong City High School in 1956. She married George

Atchison and they divorced. She and Cypriam Phillip "C.P."Gonzales were married and divorced. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2004.

She was a homemaker, worked as a telemarketer at Rigid Steel, and helped deliver meals for five years. She retired in the mid-90’s.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cottonwood Falls where she taught Sunday School and played the organ and the piano for church services.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Cottonwood Falls and transferred her membership to the Emporia chapter when she moved to Emporia.

She is survived by three sons: Phillip Lynn Gonzales of Pensacola, Florida, , Mark Atchison of Jacob’s Creek, and Mike Atchison, address unknown; three daughters: Lea Ann Morrow of Burlington, Kansas, Juanita Stonehocker of Fairview, Oklahoma, and Karen Smith Garrison of Bennington, Kansas, a brother, Lawrence Ray Lammon of LaBarge, Wyoming, two sisters: Betty Jo Powers of Emporia, Kansas, and Charlotte Swift of Colony, Kansas, and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call Sunday from noon until 6:00 P.M. at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home and Monday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church.
