NAOMI SUE MURET HOVEY N. Sue Hovey, age 82, of Cottonwood Falls, died Saturday, December 25, 2010, at the Golden Living Center of Chase County in Cottonwood Falls. A celebration of life service will be Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at 10:00 A.M., at the First Presbyterian Church, USA, in Cottonwood Falls. The Rev. Ronald Phelps will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery west of Cottonwood Falls. The daughter of Hugh and Martha Reba Shaw Muret, Naomi Sue was born November 19, 1928, in Hackney, Kansas. She graduated from high school and attended two years at Ottawa College in Ottawa, Kansas. She and Hubert W. Hovey were married March 16, 1952, in Winfield, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1996. She was a homemaker and worked as a clerk in the Chase County Treasurer’s Office from 1977 until 1989. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, USA, and worked in the Rummage Sale and the Clothes Closet. She was a member of Presbyterian Women, an Elder of the church, and a member of the choir, She was, also, a member of the Garden Club and was a Girl Scout Leader for her daughters’ troops. She is survived by two daughters: Beverly Seeney and her husband, Frank, of Lebo, KS. and Diana Mihm and her husband, Jerry, of Simpson, KS.; two sons: Greg Hovey and his wife, Kim, of Wichita, KS. and Steve Hovey and his wife, JoNell, of Kansas City, MO.; ten grandchildren: Sean Seeney, Lee Davis, Justin Davis, Ryan Davis, Jonathan Hovey, Jo Laina Hovey, Nicholas Hovey, Rachel Hovey, Brianna Hovey, and Alissa Hovey; and five great grandchildren: Ashlie Seeney, Brandi Seeney, Joshua Davis, Alyssa Davis, and Karleigh Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Harold Muret and George Muret; and one sister, Martha Hostetter. The family will meet friends Tuesday, from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M., at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home. Friends may call Tuesday, from noon until 7:30 P.M., at the funeral home and Wednesday, from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the church.
