Mildred (Osman) Bowers, 106, passed away July 3, 2026, at Chase County Care and Rehabilitation, Cottonwood Falls. Mildred was born June 7, 1920, in Cedar Point to Ernest and Georgia (Zickefoose) Osman. On March 23, 1941, her and Roland Bowers were married in the Cedar Point Methodist Church. They made their home on a farm north of Cedar Point. Two children were born to the couple, Donald Eugene and Myrna Marie.

Later years they built their home and lived at the Marion County Lake.

Mildred and family went with Roland and Combine Crew to Oklahoma and Nebraska. She was their cook, truck driver and errand lady.

She and her mother were cooks in the Cedar Point grade school eighteen years. She loved playing her piano “by ear” and doing embroidery work.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roland on July 24, 1995; sister, Erma Palmer, and brother, Dean Osman.

Mildred is survived: son, Don Bowers and wife Janet of Marion; daughter, Myrna Goswick and husband George; 3 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren and one on the way.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls. Family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cottonwood Falls.
