Mark Thompson Obituary

Mark A. Thompson, 65, died November 11, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born October 8, 1959, in Emporia, to Warren G. and Gladys I. (Miller) Thompson. Mark graduated from Chase County High School in 1978. Mark owned and operated Thompson Bro Hay Hauling and did custom hay hauling for local farmers. Mark also worked for Hutton Construction as an equipment operator. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking and tinkering around in the garage. Mark loved his granddaughter and great nephew.

Mark is survived by: daughters, Kaitlynn Thompson and fiancé Austin White, Victoria Thompson; granddaughter, Scarlett White, all of Ponca City, OK; siblings, Vicky Lyon and husband Pat of Emporia, Kevin Thompson of Strong City, Nancy Brasher and husband Terry of Galva; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, George Thompson and David Thompson.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cottonwood Falls. Memorial donations may be made to Mark A. Thompson Memorial Fund (toward expenses), in care of Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home PO Box 220 Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
