MARY A. FETTER STEADMAN WILLIAMS Cottonwood Falls Dateline Mary A. Williams, 97, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at Villa Maria, Inc. in Mulvane, Kansas, where she had lived recently. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, May 5, 2008, at 1:00 P.M., at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls. Pastor Melody Kimbrel of the Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Prairie Grove Cemetery in rural Cottonwood Falls, Kansas The daughter of George W. and Myrtle Rose Phelphrey Fetter, Mary Alice Fetter was born January 3, 1911, in Erie, Kansas. She married John H. Steadman on September 29, 1929, in Emporia, KS. He died April 17, 1964. She and Clifton Williams were married October 8, 1980, in Cabot, Arkansas. He died in November, 1986. She worked as a cook in a Cottonwood Falls Restaurant. She then cooked at the Chase County High School until she was 70 years old. She was a member of the Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, John H. Steadman of Mulvane, KS., six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, James D. Steadman; two grandchildren: Sheri Lynn Steadman and Kevin Steadman; three brothers: Earl Raymond Fetter, Harold Fetter, and George R. Fetter; and two sisters: Myrtle Linsea and Ella Edwards.
