MARVIN MATTI Obituary

MARVIN L. MATTI Cottonwood Falls Dateline Marvin L. Matti, 78, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at Newman Regional Health in Emporia, KS. A graveside service will be Thursday, October 24, 2008, at 10:30 A.M., at Prairie Grove Cemetery with The Rev. Pat Ireland officiating. The son of Ernest Frank and Ethel Byram Matti, Marvin Lee Matti was born March 21, 1930. in the family home in rural Cottonwood Falls. He attended the Vernon School District and graduated from Chase County Community High School. He then attended Kansas State University in Manhattan. He and Beverly Gibb were married September 3, 1950, in Newton, KS. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 until 1956 in Khaslsrue, Germany. He was honorably discharged. He was a farmer/rancher. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, USA, in Cottonwood Falls, the American Legion, the Chase County Cattlemen"s Association, and the Chase County Pork Producers. He coached Little League Baseball for many years. He served a Trustee of Falls township. He is survived by his wife of the home; a son, Steven Kyle Matti of Strong City, KS.; two grandchildren: Michael Scott of Wichita, KS and Amanda Matti of Strong City; one great grandson, Leland Seth Matti of Strong City; and a sister, Marilyn Adams of Sara Sota, FL .
