MARLENE R. HEIMSOTH STURMS
Cottonwood Falls Dateline Marlene R. Sturms, 70, died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center at Via Christi St. Francis, in Wichita, KS. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, December 7, 2009, at 11:00 A.M., at Grace Lutheran Church in Strong City, KS. with her son-in-law, Pastor Roger Theimer of King of Kings Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE. officiating. She has been cremated and inurnment will be at a later date. Marlene R. Heimsoth, the daughter of Norman and Oda Jagels Heimsoth, was born September 10, 1939, in Woodworth, Illinois. She and William Robert "Bob" Sturms were married on February 24, 1959, in Denver, Colorado. Prior to moving to Cottonwood Falls, she owned and operated her own drapery/upholstery business. She was a bank loan officer for construction loans at Capital Federal, worked at an oil company, and Trace Industry before her retirement. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Christ Lutheran Church in Denver, Colorado, Thrivent Financial, and AARP. She is survived by her husband, Bob, of the home; one son: Robert Allen Sturms of Wheatridge, CO.; two daughters: Cheryl Theimer of Omaha, NE. and Robin Newland of Scott City, KS.; two brothers: Elton Heimsoth of Lombard, ILL. and Martin Heimsoth of South Fork, CO.; one sister: Maragart Labranz of Morro Bay, CA; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lavern Markheim.
