MARK A. ATCHISON Hartford Dateline Mark A. Atchison, age 49, of Hartford, died suddenly Friday, June 12, 2009, in the emergency room at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka, KS. He had been cremated. A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009, at 4:00 P.M., at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls, KS. Inurnment will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery at rural Cottonwood Falls with military honors by a Fort Riley Honor Detail. The son of George and Nancy Lea Lammon Atchison, Mark Allen was born April 30, 1960, in Emporia, KS. He graduated from Chase County High School in 1978. He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper. He was a life-time member of the Buck Creek Gun Club in Chase County. He owned Jacob Creek Rabbitry and raised and showed purebred Flemish Giant Rabbits. He was active in the Flemish Giants Association. He worked at Menu Foods Midwest in Emporia as a millwright. He is survived by two brothers: Mike Atchison of Oklahoma City, OK. and Phillip Lynn Gonzales of Pensicola, FL.; three sisters: Karen Garrison of Bennington, KS., Juanita Stonehocker of Fairview, OK., and Lea Ann Morrow of Burlington, KS.
