Lacey Dawn Cooper, 38, died April 10, 2023, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. She was born October 26, 1984, in Emporia, to Clay and Connie (Edmiston) Cooper. Lacey graduated from Chase County High School in 2003 and attended Johnson County Community College. She worked for LMI Aerospace as quality control. Lacey enjoyed being outdoors, camping, hunting, and barrel racing. Her true passion was spending time with her 3 children and friends.
On September 15, 2007, she married Matthew Miller. They later divorced but remained best friends.
Lacey is survived by: parents, Clay and Connie Cooper of Cottonwood Falls; brother, Chris Cooper and wife Carly of Emporia; children, Clark, Alexys, Cooper Miller all of Strong City; niece and nephew, Hadley and Lane Cooper; father of her children and best friend, Matthew Miller of Strong City; grandmother, Rosalie Edmiston of Emporia; trusty fur companion, Goose; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert Edmiston, and Jim and Peggy Cooper.
Cremation will take place.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Clover Cliff Pavilion, 826A US Hwy 50, Elmdale. Family will greet friends after the service. Memorial donations may be made to Lacey Cooper Memorial Fund for her children’s education, in care of Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home PO Box 220 Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
