LESLIE "LES" L. SLAYDEN
Strong City Dateline Leslie "Les" Slayden, age 74, of Strong City, KS., died January 25, 2010, at his home. He has been cremated and, by his request, there will be no service. The son of Harvey Dallas and Grace Laneniger Slayden, Leslie LaVern Slayden, was born April 20, 1935, at Maryville, Missouri. He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper. He and Doris Marie Lance were married December 16, 1966, in Kansas City, Missouri. He drove a truck for years. After his retirement from trucking, he worked for Dennis Murphy at the Strong City Elevator. He is survived by his wife, Doris of the home; a daughter, Donna Joann Fisher of Salina; a sister, Helen Mildward of Cottonwood Falls; two grandchildren: Chrisey Owen and Les Howe; five great grandchildren: Angie Owen, Chelsea, David, and Makenzie Collins, and Trenton Howe; and two sons: Phill Slayden and Randy Slayden of Kansas City, MO. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lesley Ann Slayden and two sisters: Sally Drisel and Betty Dreher.
