LEE INGALLS Obituary

LEE ROY INGALLS Cottonwood Falls Dateline Lee Ingalls, age 90, formerly of Cedar Point, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Morris County Hospital in Council Grove, KS. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 24, 2009, at 11:00 A.M., at the Bazaar Cemetery, Bazaar, KS. with Mr. Bennie Holtsclaw officiating. Military honors will be presented by a Fort Riley Honor Guard. The son of George Edward and Flora Alma Stoltz Ingalls, Lee Roy was born December 16, 1918, in rural Chase County, KS. He served with the 997th Field Artillery Battalion in the United States Army during World War II. He fought in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe which included the Battle of the Bulge. He worked as a mechanic at Gerald’s Repair in Cedar Point and he farmed in the Cedar Point area. He enjoyed fishing from the bridges at Cedar Point and Cottonwood Falls and hunted various game. He is survived by two sisters: Viola Yoakem of Westco, TX. and Pansy Oldham of Buffalo, MO.; local nephews and nieces: Gerald Ingalls and Donnie Ingalls, Nancy McCorgary, and Kathy Sigler all of Strong City, KS.; and three nephews: Wayne Yoakem, formerly of Cottonwood Falls, now TX., Lee Oldham of MO., and Jack Lassley of Ark. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Don Ingalls and George Edward Ingalls and two in infancy; and two sisters: Lillie Lassley and Dolly Ingalls. There will be no family visitation. Friends may call at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home Thursday, 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M.
