Kevin L. Collins

Kevin L. Collins, 72, died November 26, 2023, at Newman Regional Medical. He was born November 10, 1951, in Fredonia, to Willard and Sue (Cook) Collins. Kevin graduated from Fredonia High School in 1969 and from Emporia State University with a double Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry in 1973. He retired as facility manager of Bunge. Kevin was a true outdoorsman. He loved hunting, riding horses, pasture burning, camping and sitting around poking at the campfire. Kevin also enjoyed canoeing and traveling.

On August 15, 1997, he married Becky (Harold) Burk in Estes Park, CO at the Rocky Mountain National Park. They shared 26 years of marriage.

Kevin is survived by: wife, Becky, of the home; children, Jennifer Reynolds and husband Warren, Heather Howland and husband David, Kristie McClellan and husband Roger, Jeremy Burk and wife Bobbi; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Kathi Hudson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger Collins; brother-in-law, Don Hudson; and granddaughter, Savannah.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls, with Pastor Ben Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Toledo Township. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2023, at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home.
