KEITH V. HYNSON Keith Hynson, age 78, died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Holiday Resort in Emporia, KS. There will be no service at this time. He has been cremated and there will be a private inurnment, in Prairie Grove Cemetery, at a later date. The son of Eugene and Esther Stubenhofer Hynson, Keith Vernon was born July 20, 1933, at the farmstead where his mother and he were born. He graduated from Chase County Community High School and attended one year of college at Emporia State University. He served in the U.S. Army, as an Amphibious Vehicle Driver, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Private 1st Class. Keith and Colleen Hamilton were married December 31, 1964, at the Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church in Cottonwood Falls, KS. He and Colleen have continued to live in that same house, in rural Strong City, since their marriage. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, as a Signalman for 46 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He collected nails and attended the trade shows where he visited, sold, and bought nails. He spent hours working with the nails and mounting them for display. He is survived by his wife, of the home; one daughter, Tracy Lynn Hynson of Houston, TX.; one step-daughter, Connie Pretzer, of Strong City, KS.; four step-brothers: Ted Passmore of Deville, LA., Alan Passmore of Little Rock, ARK, Tom Passmore of Boise, LA., and Chris Passmore of Cottonwood Falls, KS.; one brother, Eugene Hynson of Topeka, KS.; nine grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents.
