Joyce Kay (Potter) Buckridge, 75, of Americus, passed January 8, 2022, at Newman Regional Health in Emporia. She is the daughter of the late William Harold Potter, Sr. and Katherine Elizabeth (Marlatt) Potter Scheikofsky. Joyce was born November 28, 1946, in Cottonwood Falls and graduated from Emporia High School in 1964. Joyce worked for Farm Credit Services as a crop insurance specialist and for the Kansas Turnpike Authority. She was a member of Countryside Baptist Church.
She and John Clark Buckridge, Jr. were married on January 23, 2010.
Joyce is survived by: husband, John of the home; children, John Clark Herbaugh, Victoria Lynn Robins; step-children, Tina Buckridge (Stephen), Kristy Buckridge Schrope (Bill), Joni Buckridge; grandchildren, Amanda King, Joseph Herbaugh (Elyse), Marissa Herbaugh, Taylor Herbaugh, Hunter Herbaugh, Connor Herbaugh, Nikki Holcomb (Matthew), Teri Moore; step-grandchildren, Ashton Nunberg, Andy Powell, Emily Bray, Nadia Romero (Sage), Andrew Callen, Kaitlyn Callen; great-grandchildren, Kileaka Kay-Lynne Herbaugh, Ezra Marie Herbaugh, Kali Ann Nichols, Rylie King, Bailey King, Kaydynce Wiseman, Leland Wiseman, Tucker Herbaugh, T.J. Herbaugh, Temperance Holcomb, Violet Holcomb; step great-grandchildren, Nathan Bray, Hunter Manuel, Cain Romero, Kingsley Eidson; and sister, Donna June Slade.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William H. Potter, Jr., Leslie Eugene Potter, James Daniel Potter, John (Jack) Potter, Richard Glenn Potter; sister, Marla Jean Fulkerson; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Herbaugh.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Countryside Baptist Church, Americus. Burial will follow in Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls.
