Jerry J.R. Collins, 66, died September 3, 2022, at his home in Matfield Green. He was born June 18, 1956, in Strong City to Vernie E. and F. Hazel (Ramsey) Collins. Jerry was a hardworking man who built his house and worked for Chase County Road and Bridge as a road grader. He also enjoyed collecting items.
On June 17, 1995, he married Pamela (Dodson) Wunderlich. They shared 27 years of marriage.
Jerry is survived by: wife, Pamela of the home; sons, Craig Collins of Elmdale, Michael Wunderlich and wife Amber of Derby, Gabriel Wunderlich and wife Marlana of Peadmont; 8 grandchildren; mother, Hazel Collins of Cottonwood Falls; siblings, Verna Buttel of Strong City, Dennis Collins and wife Shirley of Strong City, Hazel Snyder of MO, Wanda Hager of Florence, and Paul Collins of Strong City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenny Collins; and daughter, Jeris Wunderlich.
Per Jerry’s wishes, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Donor’s Choice, in care of Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, PO Box 220 Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
