James L. “Jimmy” Copple, 54, died February 18, 2021, at his home in Emporia. He was born June 4, 1966, in Emporia to Phyllis J. Varelman. Jimmy worked for Hornet Manufacturing in Emporia. He loved fishing, baking, and spending time with his daughters and twin granddaughters. Jimmy was a proud United States Army Veteran.
He is survived by: daughters, Alisha Copple and fiancé Joe Gile of Emporia, Tia Copple and fiancé Josh Smith of Madison; twin granddaughters, Regina and Iris Atchison of Madison; father figure, Don Zorn Sr.; and sibling-like cousins, Charles, Carl, Anna, Nick, Don Jr. Zorn.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother; mother figure, Mabel Zorn; and mother of his children, Christy Copple.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls, with Pastor James Scott officiating. Family will greet friends following the service. There will not be a visitation. Memorial donations may be made to James L.
