JOYCE A. BLOUNT Cottonwood Falls Dateline Joyce A. Blount, 64, died Friday, August 01, 2008, at the Golden Living Center of Chase County in Cottonwood Falls, KS. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at 2:00 P.M., at the First Presbyterian Church in Cottonwood Falls with Chaplain Hal Lewis, chaplain of Newman Regional Health and Hand in Hand Hospice officiating. Interment will follow in Bazaar Cemetery, Bazaar, KS. The daughter of Albert and Nina Bell Blackburn Burton, Joyce Ann was born November 24, 1943, in La Mesa, CA. She and Robert S. Blount were married June 7, 1961, in Cottonwood Falls, KS. He died September 1, 1995. She worked, as a secretary and/or treasurer, for U.S.D. #284 for over 30 years. She retired in 2003. She was a member of Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church, Rainbow Garden Club, the Cottonwood Falls Country Club, and a member, and former Treasurer, of the Chase County Historical Society. She enjoyed playing golf, gardening, and bowling. She is survived by two daughters: Karen Line, and her husband, Gene, of Bazaar, KS. and Kim Mayo, and her husband, David. of Guilford, MO.; a twin sister, Carol Hawkins, and her husband, Bill, of Aurora, CO.; and four grandchildren: Ben Mayo, Brandon Line, Rachel Mayo, and Tanner Line.
