IRMA PEARL SMITH ROBERTS Irma P. Roberts, age 91, of Cedar Point, Kansas, died Sunday, February 6, 2011, at the Golden Living Center of Chase County in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. A celebration of life graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at 2:00 P.M., at the Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Kansas. Pastor Larry Timm will conduct the service. She was born December 27, 1919, in Hymer, Kansas, to George Ode and Della May Hamilton Smith. She attended school in Hymer and Elmdale, Kansas. She lived in Chase County most of her life. On February 13, 1939, she married Samuel Fredrick Roberts, of Bazaar, in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. They lived most of their life in Elmdale, Hymer, Cottonwood Falls, and Cedar Point. Cedar Point was their home for years. He preceded her in death May 19, 2008. She loved to work in her garden and flower beds. She, also, loved to read, quilt, crochet, ride horse back, skate, and dance. ***Please add "She was a member of the Cedar Point Community Church." She is survived by her son, Samuel Fredrick Roberts of Cedar Point, two granddaughters: Trudy L. Byer and her husband, Elmer, and Tina L. Turner and her husband, Keith; four great-grandchildren, five great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Joyce Ann Cummings, her grandson, Thomas Lee Roberts, three sisters: Ethel McVicker, Cecile Bastin, and Evelyn Werries; and three brothers: Loren Smith, George Smith, and Elmer Smith. The casket will remain closed and there will be no formal family visitation. Friends may call Tuesday, noon until 5:00 P.M. and Wednesday, 9:00 A.M. until noon, at the funeral home.
