Frederick C. Solis, 77, died October 31, 2024, at Robert J. Dole VA Center, Wichita. He was born July 2, 1947, to Carmel and Guadalupe (Rangel) Solis. Frederick graduated from Chase County High School and went on to receive an associate’s degree at Butler County Community College. On April 30, 1969, he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on December 26, 1971. He received the following awards for his service; Purple Heart, Air Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Expert Badge and Sharpshooter Badge. Frederick retired from Alefs Harley Davidson as a motorcycle mechanic.
He married Randy Collins on March 4, 1972 and they shared 52 years of marriage.
Frederick is survived by: wife, Randy of the home; children, Adam Solis and wife Sheryl Malone of El Dorado, Clint Solis and wife Jessica of Derby, Anna Solis and partner Braden Dipman of Wichita; grandchildren, Conner Solis, Apollo Solis, Peyton Solis, Liliana Solis-Dipman, Sofia Solis-Dipman; siblings, Arthur Solis of Olathe, Deborah Barnaby of Emporia, Carmel Solis of Andover, Albert Solis of Wichita, Mary Thompson of Cottonwood Falls, Orlando Solis of Wichita; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alexander Solis; and daughter, Jessica Knoll.
Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Strong City, with Father Andrew Seiler officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard and Chase County All Veteran. Friends may sign his register book from 1-6 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2014, at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls.
