Elmer Edward Huse, 70, died September 22, 2023, peacefully at his home in Elmdale. He was born January 24, 1953, in San Diego, CA, to Billy Gene and Mary Frances (Moody) Huse. Elmer graduated from Antelope Valley High School, Lancaster, CA. He retired as a diesel mechanic from Tyson Foods.
Elmer enjoyed camping, fishing, watching football, and drinking beer. He had a great love of all animals, particularly dogs. He enjoyed a good rain storm, sitting around a campfire, and star-gazing. Elmer loved trees and enjoyed being surrounded by nature.
He married Billie Jean (Kimberlin) Jaymes on February 14, 2000, in Emporia. They shared almost 19 years of marriage before she died on January 17, 2019.
Elmer is survived by: children, Tanya Nguyen and husband Vinh of Haysville, Billy Huse II and wife Amenda of Elmdale, and Charles Huse of Haysville; step-children, Ella Guzinski and husband Mike of Colorado, Will Jaymes and wife Susan of Reading; grandchildren, Tanya Gonzalez-Huse and husband Carlos, Veronika Waugh and husband Elijah, Wake and Crew Nguyen, Lillian and August Guzinski, Nikki Gorton, Lexi Hileman, Kaylon Wilkerson, and Tristan Vannocker; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Haley Groton, Jett Hileman, Ariya and Mavryck Wilkerson and Hardyn Peterson; sisters, Vonnie Jones and Mary Sanchez; and fur companion, Princess.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bobby Gene Huse. Cremation will take place.
Family Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be determined. Memorial donations may be made to the Emporia Animal Shelter, in care of Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home PO Box 220, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
