ETTA MAE ANKROM ANKROM Etta M Ankrom, age 77, of rural Emporia, died Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Presbyterian Manor in Emporia, KS. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, November 8, 2010, at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Warren Olson officiating. Burial will follow in Elmdale Cemetery in Elmdale, KS. The daughter of William R. and Ethel Donalson Ankrom, Etta Mae was born August 8, 1933, at Schubert, NE. She graduated from high school and attended one year of college. She married James L. Ankrom February 12, 1957, in Hiawatha, KS. She worked, as a library clerk, for the Emporia Unified District #253 at Lowther South. She and her husband worked together on their farm in rural Emporia. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Emporia. She was a member of the Kansas Cow Belles and the Kansas National Education Association. She is survived by her husband of the home; a son, Keith L. Ankrom of Seling, OK.; two daughters: Donna Joyce Pardus of Marrietta, GA. and Deborah Kay Studer of Cottonwood Falls, KS.; a brother, William D. Ankrom of Shubert, NE.; seven grandchildren: Johnny Pardus, Wesley Ankrom, John Studer, Wayne Studer, Michelle Mason, Susan Salio, and Shannon Lemons; eight great grandchildren: Elijah Ankrom, Caleb Ankrom, Ben Ankrom, Abigail Ankrom, Ryan Kohr, Reese Kohr, Chase Mason, and Madelynn Studer. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, June Elizabeth Ankrom.
