EMRICK HARBAUGH Obituary

EMRICK Y. HARBAUGH Emrick Harbaugh, of Emporia, formerly of Cottonwood Falls, died Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at Presbyterian Manor in Emporia. He was 94. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, December 10, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home. Pastor Rick Smith, former pastor at First Baptist Church in Cottonwood Falls, and Pastor Earl Detwiler, pastor at Grace Methodist Church in Emporia, will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery west of Cottonwood Falls. The son of Yost Emrick and Eva R. Archer Harbaugh, he was born December 1, 1916, in Lyon County, Kansas. He worked for the Chase County Highway Department for 30 years. He and Alletha Fagg Robinson were married April 24, 1971, in Cottonwood Falls, KS. They moved to Presbyterian Manor in November of 2003. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2005. He is survived by one sister, Alma Meyer of Olathe, KS. and local nephews and nieces: Cleat Buckbee and Frank Harbaugh of Emporia, Bonnie Garrison of Emporia and Eva Rachel Smith of Marion. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Sam Harbaugh, Tom Harbaugh, and James Harbaugh; and two sisters: Nellie Buckbee and Martha Potter. There will be no formal family visitation. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, noon until 6:00 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 until service time. Memorial contributions to the American Heart Association and the Presbyterian Manor may be sent in care of the funeral home, 201 Cherry, Cottonwood Falls, KS. 66845.
