EDITH HELEN WHITE KEENER Cottonwood Falls Dateline E. Helen Keener, age 96, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at the Golden Living Center of Chase County in Cottonwood Falls. A graveside service will be held Monday, 11:00 A.M., at Prairie Grove Cemetery in rural Cottonwood Falls with celebrant Father Edmond Kline of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Strong City. The daughter of Robert and Katherine Daub White, Edith Helen White was born March 2, 1913, at Strong City, Kansas. She and Ben Carpenter were married May 17, 1937, at Emporia. After his death, Helen and Charles Keener were married February 7, 1968. He preceded her in death April 6, 1985. She was a homemaker who loved to quilt, crochet, embroidery, and garden. She is survived by three grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Frank Carpenter and Russell Carpenter; one brother, LeRoy White; and four sisters: Agnes Hensley, Anna Armagost, Ada White, and Neva Britain.
