Dwayne D. Schrag, 82, died August 18, 2021, at Regent Park Assisted Living and Memory Care in Wichita. He was born October 28, 1938, in McPherson to Richard and Lizzie (Krehbiel) Schrag.
Dwayne received a Bachelor of Arts from Bethel College, library specialist degree from University of Denver and a Master of Library Science from Emporia State Teachers' College. After graduating from Bethel, Dwayne spent three years in Nepal doing service work with Mennonite Central Committee's PAX program. He was a university librarian at multiple institutions in Kansas and Texas. He enjoyed reading, traveling and following KSU sports.
On July 16, 1967, he married Sandra K. Busselle, at First Presbyterian Church in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. They shared 54 years of marriage.
After retiring to Wichita, Dwayne was active in the Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church and had season tickets to Music Theatre Wichita and the Wichita Symphony.
Dwayne is survived by: wife, Sandra of Wichita; sister, KayAnn Fransen Weidner and husband Mark of Lititz, PA; brother, Dale R. Schrag and wife Margo of North Newton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joann (John) Reeves.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will take place at a later date. Inurnment will take place in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cottonwood Falls. Memorial donations may be made to Bethel College, in care of Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, PO Box 220 Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
