Donald “Don” Lee Zorn, 93, died June 4, 2025, at Chase County Care and Rehabilitation, Cottonwood Falls. He was born April 21, 1932, in Olpe to Otto Turner and Inez Louise (Dinner) Zorn. Don drove a feed truck and retired in 1983. Don proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked aboard DD540 ship destroyers. Don was honorably discharged December 1960.
On September 16, 1958, he married Mabel A. Varelman in Emporia. They shared 53 years of marriage before she died on May 21, 2020.
Don is survived by: sons, Charles Zorn of Cottonwood Falls, Donald O. Zorn and Carl Zorn both of Strong City; grandchildren, Jennifer Crumrine, Thomas L. Zorn; 5 great grandchildren; and brothers, Marvin Zorn of Ottawa and Raymond Zorn of Olpe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Johnnie Zorn, Charles Zorn, Jerry Zorn, Jim Zorn, Alberta Hendrichs, Dorothy Lawrence, Norma Mackery; son, Nicholas Zorn and daughter, Anna Leger.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls. Burial will follow in Strong Township Cemetery with military honors conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard and Chase County All Veterans.
