Debora Ann Scott, 63, died December 1, 2024, at Morris County Hospital, Council Grove. Deb was born April 1, 1961, in Emporia, to Donald E. and Linda S. (Crowell) Scott. Deb graduated from Chase County High School in 1979. After Deb’s accident, she worked a few hours a week at the Chase County Senior Center answering the phone. Deb was extremely smart, always working on the computer and taught her niece how to read. She loved plants and working on puzzles. She was a Raiders fan and a K-State fan. Deb was an avid George Straight enthusiast and had attended many of his concerts.
Deb is survived by: best friend and caregiver, Sandy Nichols of Cottonwood Falls; mother, Linda Vanderslice and husband Bill of Cottonwood Falls; brother, Tom Scott and wife Carrie of Elmdale; sister, Amy Carlson and husband Randy of Marion; niece, Kylee Woods and husband Craig; nephew, Hugh Carlson; aunts; Jean Fillmore, Kay Klenk, Linda Iliff; uncles, Ron Scott and wife Jane, Larry Scott and wife Bev, Ronnie Scott and wife Linda; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father; uncles, Jim Iliff, Butch Klenk; and nephew, Hunter Scott.
Per Deb’s wishes, cremation will take place and a private service will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Hunter J. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home PO Box 220 Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
