Cyrus Allen Talkington

Cyrus Allen Talkington, 38, died April 20, 2022, in Wichita. He was born February 9, 1984, in Emporia.

He is survived by: daughter, Abigail; mother, Shelley Chiasson and James; grandmother, Phyllis Talkington, all of Matfield Green; son, Carson Grey and his mother, Melody Cuevas and her children, Cash and Lyric, all of Strong City; brother, Benjamin Gallmeister and friend Jennifer Moore of El Dorado; step-father, Scott Gallmeister and wife Carla; step-sister, Hettie Patton, all of Cottonwood Falls; step-brother, Nathan Chiasson; and step-sister, Maryln Chiasson.

Cyrus was preceded in death by his grandfather, June Talkington; and cousins, James Calvin Talkington and Konner Crabtree.

Cyrus grew up in Chase County except for a short time in Oregon, attended school until a junior and later received his G.E.D. He was involved in playing baseball in the summertime and joined 4-H when he was 7 years old. During that time he enjoyed working with the animals. Most of all he loved helping his grandpa, June Talkington, on the farm!

He was blessed to have worked for Billy Kewley, Casey Jones, Jim Tastove, Nathan Passmore and many other that needed a helping hand.

Cyrus attended Flint Hills Community Church, so it is fitting to have his celebration of life and his final farewells in God’s house.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Flint Hills Community Church, with Pastor Dave Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Matfield Green Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Flint Hills Community Church. Memorial donation may be made to Cyrus A.
