CHARLES ALBERT ROGLER Charles A. Rogler, age 83, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died August 19, 2011, at the home of his daughter in Las Vegas. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, August 27, 2011, at 10:00 A.M., at Pioneer Bluffs, near the homestead where his great-grandfather, Henry Rogler was raised, north of Matfield Green, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Matfield Green Cemetery. The son of Charles C. and Carmen Canino Rogler, he was born April 8, 1928, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He was a self-made man, world traveler, and successful businessman. He began his long career selling international Silver and Ronson products to jewelry stores all over Latin America, then worked for Diebold, Inc. in their international operations. He was an expert pistol shooter and an excellent marksman with all types of weapons. He was a life member of the NRA, Canton McKinley Rifle and Pistol Club and a member of MENSA. He was an airplane pilot and volunteered many hours with Search and Rescue in Ravalli County, Montana. He loved the outdoors and moved west to "God’s Country" where he spent the last 25 years in Montana and Idaho. Charlie loved bird hunting, fly fishing, and floating on the river. He was happiest outdoors with his dog by his side. Charlie was a shooter from a very young age. He was on his high school rifle team at Iowa City High School in Iowa. As an adult, he set several national pistol records. Through shooting, he met and became close friends with Bill Ruger, President of Sturm, Ruger & Co. In the early 60s, Charlie was an export representative for Sturm, Ruger, selling firearms to foreign government agencies, U.S. military, rod and gun clubs, and wholesalers all over the world. Charlie was very proud of his spotless reputation a an exporter, the success of his company and the many friends he gathered in his travels. Charlie is survived by his wife, Patricia Molinari of Montana, his six daughters: Diane Rogler of Maryland, Deborah Rogler of Maryland, Dr. Ginene Rogler (Jaime Acevedo) of Las Vegas, ShariLu Rogler (Steve)Dobson of Utah, Ylva Sofi Rogler (David Spencer) of Uniontown, Mary Ann Rogler (Kenny Brown) of Maryland; a step-daughter, Jenell (Brad) Semple of Montana; grandchildren, Charles H. Rogler-Brown, Brianna Rogler-Brown, Sierra Dobson, Lauren Grasinger (Steve Latimer), Margaux Spencer, Kelsey Spencer, Jordan McCoin; step-grandchildren: Emmett Semple, Ivy Semple; great grandson, Braiden Michael Latimer; and his brother, Lloyd (Susan) Rogler of Maine. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carmen Canino Kormanik. The casket will remain closed. There will be no family visitation.
