Cottonwood Falls Dateline Chad E. Butter, age 35, died of injuries received in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, August 8, 2010, in Wabaunsee County, Kansas. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, August 13, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. at the Flint Hills Community Church in Cottonwood Falls, KS. Minister Everett Cress will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in Blakely Cemetery near Madison, KS. The casket will be closed. Chad Eugene Butter, the son of Rex and Kimberly Butter, was born June 28, 1975, in Emporia, KS. He grew up in Chase County, graduating in May of 1993, from Chase County High School. He attended Kansas State University and Emporia State University. He married Melanie Schroeder on March 25, 2002, at the Lyon County Courthouse in Emporia. He was employed as a truck driver for Waste Management. He is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters: Khora Fell and Courtney Butter of the home; his parents of Cottonwood Falls; and a sister, Sondra Butter of Cottonwood Falls, KS. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: H.C. (Bud) and Irene Jones and Leroy and Levoda Butter. Casual dress is requested by the family. The family will meet friends on Thursday from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls. Friends may call Thursday, noon until 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home and Friday, 9:00 A.M. until service time at the church.
