CASILDA M. WAMBSGANSS JONES ROSEBRAUGH Cottonwood Falls Dateline Casilda Rosebraugh, age 94, died Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Presbyterian Manor in Emporia, KS. A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at 11:00 A.M., at Grace Lutheran Church in Strong City, KS., with Pastor David Parks officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery in rural Cottonwood Falls. The daughter of Anton and Sophia Marie Hellmann Wambsganss, Casilda Marie was born July 21, 1915, at Elmdale, KS. She and Dean Joseph Jones were married November 3, 1937, in Fredonia, KS. He died September 8, 1973. She and Guy Rosebraugh were married October 24, 1987, at her daughter, Ginny’s home in rural Bazaar, KS. He died May 22, 1989. During her life, she was a homemaker and a housekeeper/cook for several families in Chase County. She worked at local restaurants as a cook/dishwasher and worked at the Chase County Nursing Center as a cook for 12 years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Strong City, the Lutheran Ladies Aid at the church, and a bunco club. She is survived by a son, Robert Lee Jones of Emporia, KS.; two daughters: Deana Marie Starkey and Virginia Merle Peterson of Cottonwood Falls; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; four brothers: Merle, Phillip, Ernest, and George Wambsganss; two sisters: Pauline Ward and Ida Wiehold; her step-father, William Wambsganss; a granddaughter, Joanna Kay Jones, a great-grandson, Paul Fulton, and a son, LeRoy Rosebraugh. The family will meet friends Tuesday, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home. Friends may call Tuesday, from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
