Bonnie Spain

Bonnie Lee Spain, 92, died January 8, 2025, at Diversicare of Council Grove. She was born December 24, 1932, in Strong City, to Lee Roy and Ruth Marion (Copeland) Betty. Bonnie graduated from Strong City High School in 1950. She worked in retail and upon retiring, made quilts along with working in the flower garden.

On January 12, 1951, she married Herbert “Jr” L. Spain in Strong City. They shared 68 years of marriage in Strong City, before he died on May 11, 2019.

Bonnie is survived by: daughter, Pamela Zimmerman and husband Steve; 6 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert “Jr” Spain, and son, Mark.
