Barbara Potter Obituary

Barbara L. Potter, 75, died April 22, 2019, at her home in Cunningham. She was born October 17, 1943, in Topeka, to Donald L. and Leona C. (Flowers) Thompson. Barbara was always smiling, a loving caregiver, and loved seeing the flowers and trees bloom in the spring. She enjoyed doing crafts, especially working with beads, and spending time with her family. Barbara was a retired waitress and lifelong homemaker.

On October 27, 1971, she married Dan Potter in Cottonwood Falls. They shared almost 48 years of marriage.

Barbara is survived by: husband, Dan, of the home; son, Allan Scholes of Akron, CO; daughter, Leslie Scholes of Cunningham; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kaci, Kodi, Emily, Abby, Rachel, Jesse, Devin, Danielle, Crystal, Candy; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Ashton, Taylor, Jordanna, Jenson, Katie, Karson, Kyli, Mathew, Hagen, Alice, Braxton, William, Briella, Ariel, Jasmine, Shayla, Aiden, Bailey; brother, Randy Thompson; sisters, Dona Peterson, Brenda Akers, and Dianna Angles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jan Dickson; and sons, Billy Potter and Donald Potter.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls. Burial will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cottonwood Falls. Family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Barbara L.
