Brittney M. Hajny Strong City Dateline Brittney M. "Boo" Hajny, 15, formerly of Solomon, died Thursday, August 14, 2008, as a result of a vehicular accident in rural Chase County, Kansas. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, at 11:00 A.M., at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls with Pastor Kirk Striker of the Bel-Aire Baptist Church in Salina, Kansas, officiating. Interment, with a graveside service conducted by Pastor Kirk Striker, will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in Roselawn Cemetery in Salina. The daughter of Vincent R. and Andrea K. McCalla Hajny, Brittney Marie Hajny was born November 3, 1992, in Salina. She attended grades K through fourth at Solomon, was home schooled for fifth grade and was a Sophomore at Chase County High School. She played volleyball, was a member of the Youth Group at Bel-Aire Baptist Church, and was a Girl Scout. Her parents, Vince and Andrea were the Girl Scout leaders for their daughters troop. They met every Monday of each month and the membership tripled during that time. She liked music, loved to dance, laugh, and make other people laugh. She liked to use the computer and loved animals. She is survived by her mother, Andrea McCalla of the home in Strong City, her father, Vince R. Hajny of Salina, a sister, Ashley Hajny of Salina, maternal grandparents, Katherine and Jerry Mc Calla of Lake Kahola; and paternal grandmother, Genevieve and paternal step-grandfather, Alan Grigsby of Salina. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Harold Robert Hajny. The family will meet friends Monday, from 6-7:30 P.M. at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from noon until 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday, 9:00 A.M. until service time.
