ALLEN L. SCHEIKOFSKY Allen Scheikofsky, age 78, of Wichita, formerly of Emporia and Matfield Green, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Manor Care in Wichita, KS. A graveside service will be held Monday, March 19, at 1:00 P.M., at the Matfield Green Cemetery in Matfield Green, Kansas. Pastor Vern Richerson will conduct the service. The son of Ernest "Jim" and Kathryn Elizabeth Deines Scheikofsky, he was born March 31, 1933, in Marion, KS. He attended school in Emporia. He married Becky Weaver in 1953 and they had one son. They later divorced. He married Katherine Potter and she preceded him in death. He worked for the city of Reno doing general services and maintenance. He attended the Methodist Church in Emporia and in Neosho Rapids. He was an avid golfer and worked crossword puzzles. He loved his dog, Daisy. He is survived by his son, Brent Scheikofsky, of Reno, NV.; a brother, Eugene Scheikofsky, of Wichita, KS.; and a sister, Helen Bennett, of Humboldt, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Irvin "Boots" and Vernie Scheikofsky; and an infant sister, Faye Mae Scheikofsky. There will be no formal family visitation. The casket will remain closed.
