Melody Rose (Henning) Mitchell Melody Mitchell age 43, of Elmdale, Kansas died unexpectedly Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Newman Regional Health in Emporia. The daughter of Clifford Cook and Lori Henning, Melody Rose was born June 5, 1975 in Emporia, KS. She graduated from Northern Heights High School in 1993 and earned an associate degree in Dental Hygiene. She worked for several years as a dental hygienist. Melody and Robert "Bob" Mitchell were married August 28, 2004 in Americus. She worked for the Chase County Chamber of Commerce before she decided to be a "stay-at-home" mom. Melody enjoyed watching movies, playing board games, and Yahtzee with her children. She loved her family and added several dogs to their family. Melody is survived by her husband, Bob of the home; a son, Mateus Kristopher; a daughter, Melayna Raeanne both of the home; a brother, Kristopher Schultz of Emporia; a step-son, Robert Mitchell of Emporia; and many family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ayla Davis. A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday, October 27, at 1:00 at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place in Americus Cemetery at a later date. There will be no formal visitation.
