MARY ALICE BOURLAND JEFFREY Emporia Dateline Mary A. Jeffrey, 70, died Monday, December 10, 2007, at her home in Emporia, KS. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, December 14, 2007, at 11:00 A.M., at the Bazaar United Methodist Church in Bazaar with The Rev. Melody Kimbrel officiating. Burial will follow in Bazaar Cemetery, Bazaar, KS. The daughter of Lester and Blanche Featherkile Bourland, Mary Alice was born August 31, 1937, at rural Cottonwood Falls, KS. She graduated from Chase County High School and attended a year of college at Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia. She and Wayne L. Jeffrey were married June 17, 1956, at the Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and while her sons were growing up, she was active in PTA at the Kansas Avenue School in Emporia and was a block mother. She bowled with several bowling leagues. She is survived by her husband, Wayne, of the home; two sons: Brad W. Jeffrey of Lee’s Summitt, MO. and Douglas L. Jeffrey of Littleton, CO.; two sisters: Wilma Lou Tabing and Marge Mae Clark of Wichita, KS.; and a granddaughter, Caitlin June Jeffrey. She was preceded in death by her parents.
