DONALD JAMES "JIM" KRUEGER Strong City Dateline Donald "Jim" Krueger, 62, died Saturday, December 29, 2007, at his home in Strong City, KS. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, January 4, 2008, at 11:00 A.M., at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls, KS. with Pastor Rick Smith, First Baptist Church in Cottonwood Falls, officiating. Cremation will following the service and he will be inurned at the Halstead Cemetery at a later date. Donald James Krueger, the son of Fred C. and Delia Dee White Krueger, was born March 20, 1945, in Emporia, KS. He and Carolyn Childers were married and divorced. He married Beverly Bea Hughes in 1978 in Cottonwood Falls. She died in 2000. He worked many years as a trucker, including driving for Dolly Madison. He was a machine operator at Cable Tech and had been employed there since the opening of the factory six years ago. He is survived by sons: Richard Childers of Houston, TX., Jerry Moore of Newton, KS., Patrick Moore of Magnolia, TX., and Shane Krueger of Herington, KS.; daughters: Teresa Vandergrift of Wichita, KS., Karen Hopkins of Newton, KS., Delia Dee Krueger of Emporia, KS., and Donna Evans of Cottonwood Falls, KS.; brothers: Chris Krueger of TX. and Richard Krueger of TX.; a sister, Patricia O’Brien of Wichita, KS.; 18 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Glen Krueger and two grandchildren.
