Billie Huse Obituary

Billie Jean (Kimberlin) Huse

Billie Jean Huse, 57, of Emporia, KS, formerly of Elmdale, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 17, 2019 at her home in Emporia. The daughter of William “Bill” L. and Wilma Jean (McElhiney) Kimberlin, Billie was born November 2, 1961 in Kingman, KS. She graduated from Chase County High School in 1979. She and Gary Jaymes were married and to that union was born two children: Ella and Will. Then on February 14, 2000, Billie married her soulmate, Elmer Huse.

Billie was known as an exceptional cook at various restaurants in the Chase County area. She was also a custodian at Emporia State University. She and Elmer enjoyed camping and fishing, spending time with their family and above all going on small adventures with her Furbabies. She was also very proud of her ability to be a “thrifty shopper”. And according to her children, she was the creator of THE BEST broccoli/cheese soup.

Billie is survived by her husband, Elmer, of the home; sons, Will (Susie) Jaymes of Reading, KS, Bill (Amenda) Huse of Lindsborg, KS, and Bob Huse of Haysville, KS; daughters Ella (Mike) Guzinski of Parker, CO and Tanya (Vin) Nguyen of Haysville, KS; brother, Jerry Kimberlin of Guthrie, OK; sisters, Stella (Randy) Cotton of Des Moines, IA and Lillian Laney of New Mexico; sister-in-law, Vonnie Jones of Ventura, CA; nine grandchildren: Nikki Gorton, Kaylon (Ralstin) Wilkerson; Tristan Vannocker, Lillian and August Guzinski, Veronika and Tanya Huse, Crew and Wake Nguyen; and four great-grandchildren who lovingly called her “Old Grandma”: Chloe and Haley Gorton and Ariya and Mavryck Wilkerson. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday, January 26 from 11:00 until 1:00 at St. Anthony Hall in Strong City. Inurnment will be in Elmdale Stoehr Cemetery near Elmdale at a later date. The family requests that contributions be made to Elmer Huse to assist with funeral expenses and sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 220, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
