Franklin “Frank” W. Buffington, 84, died February 7, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 13, 1940, in Cottonwood Falls, to Robert H. and Annie Esther (McClean) Buffington. Frank graduated from Toledo Township High School in 1957. He retired as a maintenance engineer from Dolly Madison. Frank enjoyed hunting and fishing and attending Saffordville Men’s Breakfast Club weekly. His favorite hobby was farming and being devoted to John Deere.
Frank married Carol Jean Kidwell on May 24, 1959, in Emporia. They shared almost 65 years of marriage.
He is survived by: wife, Carol of the home; daughters, Shari DeWitt and husband Bob, Lori Eudaley and husband David, Terri Reynolds and husband Joe; grandchildren, Jenni, Tom, Amber, Brad, Traci, Devin, Desiree; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; brother, Ralph Buffington; and sister, Barbara Donelson.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents.
Per Frank’s wishes, cremation will take place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Saffordville United Methodist Church or Hand in Hand Hospice, in care of Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home PO Box 220, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845.
